This thought-provoking artwork, created in response to the events of October 7th, challenges the viewer to contemplate the ease with which humanity turns to conflict over collaboration. Designed for the "Sweet Lies" exhibition at the Artura Gallery Israel, this piece artfully merges themes of temptation and deception.
The sculpture consists of five elegantly stacked ceramic plates, reminiscent of a traditional English centerpiece for sweets. At first glance, the display appears to be a delightful pile of colorful candies and sweets. However, a closer inspection reveals that these seemingly innocent treats are shaped like objects of war—hand grenades, guns, and tanks—highlighting how destructive forces often mask themselves with appealing facades.
This piece serves as a striking commentary on the choices we make as societies and individuals, reminding us of the potential for destruction or creation. A powerful addition to any art collection, it invites reflection on building a more harmonious future.
